Wants to show the world what Bollywood is: Priyanka

Bollywood actress Priyanka Chopra who recently released the video of her first music single, 'In My City', said she wanted the world to see what Bollywood is.

"I wanted to give it an Indian flavour in terms of dancing. I wanted the world to see what Bollywood is all about," Priyanka told reporters at the unveiling of the single 'In My City' here.

"I wanted that the identity of the song should be Indian. I am very India-proud. When people see my video, they must feel that Bollywood is like this," she said.

Talking about her style, she said it's a fusion and amalgamation which will be enjoyed in west and India.

"I showed the video to my dad first. He is not well and has been in the hospital for a while now. He really liked it, specially the namaste which I do," she said.

Priyanka also revealed she would like to sing for her own films. "This is just the beginning. I am waiting for the entire album to come out," she said.

Kamal Haasan to move SC over Vishwaroopam ban

Actor and director Kamal Haasan will approach the Supreme Court over the ban on his movie 'Vishwaroopam' in Tamil Nadu. The Madras High Court had on Wednesday banned the screening of the film in the state till February 6. The court stayed the release of the film even as petrol bombs were hurled at two theatres that were to screen the film.

Meanwhile, Haasan has agreed to delete some scenes from the film, caving into pressure building on him from various groups that claimed the Tamil-Hindi bilingual about international terrorism hurt the sentiments of Muslims.

Earlier in the day, Haasan made an emotional pitch ahead of the Madras High Court's final decision on the release of his film. "I have explored all possibilities with my Muslim brothers. Now it's up to the court to decide. I only request to the government that they maintain law and order is in place, that nothing untoward happens to my Muslim fans," he told reporters.

He said he and the leaders of the groups that objected to his film agreed to sort the issue amicably. "I have been given a list of scenes; I don't want it to be marred by someone's confusion. I have agreed for certain cuts," he said. "My emotional family has reached out to me, I promise anything for my brothers," he said.

The Madras High Court's order staying the release of the film came after the Tamil Nadu government challenged the court's interim order on Tuesday of lifting the stay on Haasan's 'Vishwaroopam'.

The film was banned in the state on the insistence of some Muslim organisations which felt that it depicted the community in poor light. But Kamal Haasan got a late night relief from the Madras High Court on Tuesday after the court decided to put in abeyance the prohibitory orders issued by the Tamil Nadu government to delay the film's release. However, the order has now been challenged by the state government.

When Nayanthara declined Shahrukh khan’s film

Heard this? The latest buzz to hit the tinsel town is that recently a top director from Bollywood Rohit Shetty approached Nayanthara for an item number in Shahrukh Khan's film Chennai Express. Sources say that the director wanted to cast a top heroine from south and as such approached Nayanthara to do an item song in the romantic comedy. But the actress has turned down the offer.

Nayanathara, who has a good market across South India (Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam), apparently did not evince interest in the Bollywood offer. It seems that the sexy siren does not want to make her Bollywood debut with an item song and as such has politely turned down the offer.

Chennai Express is about a man's journey from Mumbai to Rameshwaram and what happens along the way. The film, which is produced by Gauri Khan, has Deepika Padukone playing the female lead role. And this is the second time Shahrukh Khan is sharing screen space with Deepika Padukone after the 2007 blockbuster Om Shanti Om.

Cruz shows off impressive vocals in music video

Penelope Cruz, who is a model, fashion designer and an occasional journalist, has now added singing to her curriculum vitae as she her displayed her vocal range in a duet with Latin Grammy Award-winner Miguel Bose.

The single 'Decirnos Adios' is taken from Bose's latest album Papitwo, and was composed by the 38-year-old Spanish actress' brother Eduardo, the Daily Mail reported.

Filmed in a hotel in Madrid last October, the black and white clip sees Cruz strip down to her lingerie, as she flaunts her enviable curves.

Cruz cuts a forlorn figure as she sings out her lines in the duet, while Bose looks equally as heartbroken in the room next door.

The video ends with the pair meeting in the lobby before going their separate ways.

Arnold Schwarzenegger has been thrust into an old sex scandal after a photo from his early days performing a sex act has been found in a storage space owned by late Penthouse founder Bob Guccione.

According to the New York Post, the photograph was discovered by a man, who bought a bunch of the lockers after Guccione went bankrupt, TMZ.com reported.

Among the other items found in the treasure trove are unpublished nude photos of Madonna and Lauren Hutton and Guccione's personal files detailing the situation surrounding his decision to publish nude pictures of then-Miss America Vanessa Williams.

Sofia Vergara resume house hunting in LA

After a rocky start to the year, Sofia Vergara and her fiance Nick Loeb have patched things up and restarted their search for a house in Los Angeles.

According to a source, they briefly called the search off, but now everything is great between them again, the New York Post reported.

Their broker is back looking for properties in Beverly Hills and Brentwood, the source added.

The couple were seen looking happy at Sunday's SAG Awards and after-parties.

Steven Spielberg named Filmmaker of the Year

Steven Spielberg is set to receive the Filmmaker of the Year award at the 2013 American Cinema Editors' (ACE) Eddie Awards.

The legendary director will be presented with the Golden Eddie Filmmaker of the Year trophy at the 63rd annual ACE Eddie Awards in Los Angeles on February 16, the Daily Express reported.

A statement from the ACE Board of Directors reads that Spielberg is a cinematic treasure and for over four decades he has been moving audiences around the world with his unique, powerful brand of storytelling.

"As one of the most successful directors in history, he has brought us beloved films, which have not only delighted us but have been indelibly woven into our cultural fabric," a statement from the ACE Board of Directors read.

Spielberg's latest release 'Lincoln' has been tipped for Oscars glory - the historical drama has been nominated for 12 Academy Awards, including Best Picture, Best Director and Best Actor for Daniel Day-Lewis, who plays former US President Abraham Lincoln.

Acting is a brutal profession: Bipasha Basu

After spending more than a decade in the industry, Bipasha Basu feels that an actor's life is not easy.

Bipasha, 34, who started her career with a negative character in 2001 hit 'Ajnabee', says she now wants to do challenging roles.

"It is true that hunger and fierceness to do some good work is little more than before in my life. Whatever I am going to do would be an honest reflection of my true self; my performance won't be corrupt.

"Acting is a brutal profession but I would maintain my own dignity and pride. An actor's life is never easy. It is always a Friday that decides how she is going to do in months to come," Bipasha told .

Bipasha was last seen in Vikram Bhatt's 'Raaz'. Her evil character in the film was received well and opened doors for many new projects. But Bipasha says she is not on a signing spree after the success of the film.

"For the last seven years I have been doing three films at maximum in a year. It is going to be the same in future as well. I want to do good work. Also, the kind of balance that I have struck in my life is for the keeps," she says.

Bipasha feels that she performs better when she steps out of her comfort zone.

"I have come to realise that whenever I step into unsafe zones, I perform better. The kind of films that I have done in the recent past or am doing now are some risky steps.

"These kind of roles can leave a very strong image about you. However, this is a risk worth taking. Also, I am sure audience too has matured enough to understand the difference between reel and real life."

Bipasha will be seen next in Vikram's another 3D film 'Creature' and Nawazuddin Siddiqui starrer 'Aatma'.

Jennifer Lawrence suffers wardrobe malfunction

Actress Jennifer Lawrence, who picked up the best actress award at the 19th Annual Screen Actors Guild Award (SAG) here Sunday, was left in an embarrassing spot when her gown ripped apart.

Lawrence was left red-faced as she prepared to collect her best actress honour for "Silver Linings Playbook", and her gown fell open, almost exposing her underwear, reports contactmusic.com.

When she stood up to walk to the stage, the bottom half of her Christian Dior dress detached and slipped down, leaving her thighs on display.

The moment was caught on camera, but she smiled through it all confidently and quickly adjusted the garment before taking to the stage.
