Post-mortem confirms James Gandolfini dead of heart attack
'The Soparanos' actor James Gandolfini died of a heart attack of natural causes, an autopsy has confirmed.
Michael Kobold, a family friend and spokesman for the Gandolfinis, said that nothing else was found in Gandolfini's system, ABC News reported.
Kobold said that James' funeral will be held in New York on Thursday, Friday or Saturday of next week.
According to officials, James was in his room on Wednesday at Hotel Exedra when he became sick at around 10 p.m. local time.
Dr. Claudio Modini, who was in charge of the emergency room at Policlinico Umberto I hospital the night James arrived, said that he did not believe that drugs or alcohol played a role in the star's death, even though Gandolfini was known to be a smoker.
