Amit Sadh to play Hamlet
Of the many Shakespearean film adaptations in the pipeline, one is finally ready to go on the floor. The shooting of Veda, Onir's adaptation of Hamlet, will begin early next year and the director has already finalised his casting.
Amit Sadh, who played an angst-ridden Gujarati in Kai Po Che, has been chosen for the role of Rhiyad, we hear.
Since Onir is currently in the US and Amit is busy with a film commitment, they will sign the papers as soon as they return to the city.
Hamlet is Shakespeare's longest play and one of his most powerful tragedies. Onir's adaptation is set in London and Lucknow and revolves around the love story of a Muslim boy and Hindu girl.
