No time to launch fashion line: Sonam Kapoor

Sonam Kapoor's last release Raanjhanaa has won critical appraise and now the actress gears up for her next- Bhaag Milkha Bhaag where she plays a cameo.

Off screen, Sonam is quite the fashonista who has become an icon for young girls. Known for her red carpet appearances and her knack for fashion, Sonam says she's too busy to launch a line of her own, unlike a few of her contemporaries.

But if she had the chance, Sonam would want to do something affordable and reasonable. "Honestly, I don't have the time to launch a fashion line but if I ever do, it would be for normal girls. Girls who find high street brands expensive and shop in local markets and places. I'll also keep in my mind the Indian body type since organic clothes suit us the most", says the actress.

There is no man in my life: Sonam Kapoor

Actress Sonam Kapoor says she is currently single and her father Anil Kapoor is the most important man in her life.

The actress was linked to her 'I Hate Luv Storys' director Punit Malhotra but they never confirmed it publicly and now there are rumours that they have parted ways.

When asked to comment about it at a press conference here, the actress said, "I don't react to rumours. I am single... there is no man in my life. I am happy and fortunate. As of now my father is the most important man in my life."

Sonam said her brothers Harshvardhan and cousin Arjun Kapoor are always with her.

"I have six brothers who are protecting me... they have a huge built up. I love them all," she said.

Sonam will next be seen in another love story by Anand L Rai's 'Raanjhanaa' where she is cast opposite South superstar Dhanush.

Sonam rues that though she has learnt classical dance, she never gets a chance to showcase her skills onscreen.

"I don't get to do Indian dance in my films... I feel bad about it. Like for 'Raanjhanaa', I had to beg to my director to allow me to dance. And I got to do a good dance song in the film," Sonam said.

As far as dancing is concerned, Sonam looks upto her aunt Sridevi, Madhuri Dixit and Waheeda Rehman.

"The way they danced was so beautiful. Like today for rain dance one will be dressed in short clothes while earlier they used to wear sari. It looked so elegant...pleasant," she said.

She also likes Katrina Kaif's 'Chikni Chameli' and Deepika Padukone's 'Dhumtana' from 'Om Shanti Om'.

Sonam Kapoor Wants to do Item Numbers

It seems Sonam Kapoor is itching for an image makeover. The actor says she would love to do a sexy item number.

"No one asks me to do an item number. I am just asked to do classical type of films. So, I guess people have to start looking at me in that way and see me as a sexy item number girl," Sonam said at an event here.

The actress was recently seen in Pankaj Kapur's Mausam along with Shahid Kapoor. Although the film hasn't got great reviews, she is not upset.

"Fortunately for me I have got unanimously great reviews for Mausam this time. I haven't got one bad review," Sonam said.

"People have unanimously loved me in the film. I have not actually encountered too much criticism with it. So I don't know how I will deal with it but hopefully I will deal with it gracefully," she added.

Lately, a lot of mainstream actresses are doing item numbers - whether it's Deepika Padukone, Katrina Kaif or Kareena Kapoor. And Sonam hopes to join the league soon.
